What a 4 vCPU · 4 GB VPS is

4 GB comfortably hosts a full stack: the app, a database with 913 MB of buffers, a queue, Redis. This is where the database stops hitting the disk on every read and starts serving from memory — which changes responsiveness more than any CPU upgrade.

4 vCPU against 4 GB. Four threads are enough to parallelise builds, chew through a queue and keep the application responsive at the same time. That is 1 GB per core — a balanced, general-purpose configuration with no bias either way.

This is where the machine stops being limited by one thing. The weak link differs by host: disk for one, CPU generation for another, the route to your users for a third. The overall score is what surfaces whose weak spot is where.

Every server in the table was tested on one configuration — 4 vCPU and 4 GB. So a difference in scores is a difference in hardware, packing density and network quality — not in how much someone bought. We do not publish prices: they cannot be determined from a server, so go to the host for cost; the performance comparison is already done.
